About us
Bioinformatics is an interdisciplinary field that develops methods and software tools for understanding biological data—particularly when datasets are large and complex.
The Bioinformatics Research Center, located at the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Isfahan University of Medical Sciences, and officially approved by the Ministry of Health, was established in 2010 and in the same year (2010) it succeeded in receiving the agreement in principle, as well as started its research activities. This center covers a broad range of fundamental and applied research aimed at developing and utilizing computational tools and algorithms for drug design, discovery, and development, biological systems engineering and modeling, database creation, prediction of biological events, and analysis of biological data at the RNA, DNA, and protein levels.
The center is also prepared to provide guidance and consultation to research authorities and investigators across various scientific fields.

Overview
The center is committed to establishing itself as a leading hub for research in various fields related to bioinformatics by providing a supportive and well-equipped environment. Its ultimate goal is to rank within the first quartile of research excellence at Isfahan University of Medical Sciences by the end of its five-year development plan (by 1408 / 2029–2030) and to emerge as a national center of scientific and research excellence in the field
Missions of the Bioinformatics Research Center are as follows
-Attract and train capable researchers in various fields of bioinformatics
-Development and application of bioinformatics in various fields of pharmacy, especially the design of drugs and their mechanism of action
-Conducting fundamental and applied research in the field of bioinformatics
